Reading now that they may not take a re-vote on this. Still have not heard/read from an AD why they'd vote no on this.
If it's not something a program has in their budget, they do not have to do anything different than they currently do. It's optional, they can leave it as "unpaid" and compensate them like they do now with camps, etc. Sure, maybe you lose some talented young coaches, but plenty still would be out there looking to get their foot in the door. Just makes no sense why so many voted "no".
It needs to happen
Even if it's optional some schools fear that it would cause a greater divide between the haves and the have-nots. At the end of the day, it's pretty selfish.
I hear the B12 is one that not for it. It make about as much since a having only 11.7 ship for 35-40 players.
i feel like 11.7, 3rd assistant Etc are holding College Baseball back. I think College Baseball has a chance to explode with more and more on TV. I really think the AD are stuck in the “Stone Age“ and holding CB back. To mean it seams like the like it being a non money make.
