The Bears have won the free pass battle (BB + HBP) 74 to 30 over their opponents through the first eight games of 2026. Baylor has committed just four errors defensively; it's .986 fielding percentage ranks second in the Big 12.


Cincinnati

Junior Carson Marsh has been Cincinnati’s most used pitcher the last two seasons, combining to pitch in 48 games over his first two collegiate seasons. Marsh has pitched in a team-high four games already this year and has eight strikeouts to just one walk in seven innings pitched. He earned the win in the upset victory at  Auburn.


Houston

No Starting Rotation Announced


Houston plays in its second of two non-conference weekend tournaments this weekend at the Frisco Classic, having already competed in the Puerto Rico Challenge. The Cougars are coming off of a 5-4 win at Sam Houston on Tuesday. Right-hander Alex Solis was perfect over five innings with six strikeouts. Catcher Dylan Maxcey hit his first homer as a Cougar in the win.


Kansas

Kansas recorded its first series sweep of the season last weekend at McNeese State. The Jayhawks did not trail in a game all weekend and outscored McNeese by a combined score of 25-5. The Jayhawks bullpen threw a combined 12 innings of scoreless relief over the three games. Opponents are hitting only .197 against Kansas. Mathis Nayral has led the way with a 2-0 record and a 1.50 ERA. Opponents are batting .146 against him and he has recorded a 0.67 WHIP. The pitching staff as a whole has a 1.11 WHIP, which is third in the Big 12 and 25th in the country.


Kansas State

Kansas State has recorded 10 or more hits in four games this season. Three Wildcats starters are hitting over .300, with Carlos Vasquez leading the way at .393. Dee Kennedy follows closely behind with a .387 average and AJ Evasco rounds out the top three hitters at .351. Kansas State’s 16 stolen bases rank fifth in the Big 12.


Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State is 5-3 to start the season and is riding a four-game winning streak after a midweek run-rule win over Central Arkansas. During the current winning streak, the Cowboys have scored 54 runs and collected at least 11 hits in every game, including a season-high 16 in a game at Grand Canyon. The Cowboys scored 40 runs in the series against the Lopes.

Six TCU freshmen have made their collegiate debuts this season: Brady Dallimore, Lance Davis, Kade Durnin, Uli Fersnler, Lucas Franco, and Cade Nelson. Six transfers have made their debut for the Horned Frogs: Kyuss Gargett, Nolan Johnson, Rob Liddington, Walter Quinn, Tanner Sagouspe and Ethan Thomas.


Texas Tech

Texas Tech opened the season 0-3 with a couple of competitive losses to both nationally-ranked Arkansas and Oklahoma, the Red Raider bats have come alive over the five-game winning streak, as the Red Raiders have outscored UTRGV and Albany 70-27 over the stretch and have hit .406 with 31 extra-base hits and just 31 strikeouts.


UCF

Matt Sauser earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in his career after tossing six dominant innings at Miami. The right-hander was nearly perfect in the outing, as he did not allow a hit over six innings of action walking one while striking out six over the six hitless and scoreless innings. Sauser retired the Hurricanes in order in five of the six innings he worked and allowed just one runner to reach base.


West Virginia

Matt Ineich leads the Mountaineers with a .538 batting average and has hit safely in all seven games this season. Going back to the 2025 season,  Ineich  has reached base safely in 30 straight games. Brodie Kresser has a .529 batting average, Matthew Graveline leads the team with three home runs, and Paul Schoenfeld has a team-high 11 RBI.
