#25 Oklahoma opened up the Shriners College Classic with an impressive, 6-3, over the #1 Arkansas Razorbacks.
The Sooners, who already have already built a strong early-season resume with series wins at Virginia and versus Illinois State, moved to 8-2 on the year with the win. The Razorbacks fall to 7-1 with the loss.
Oklahoma entered the game with a 2.51 team ERA and lived up to that standard, quieting a Razorbacks team that scores an average of 7.5 runs per game. After a three-run fifth inning for Arkansas, Oklahoma starting pitcher, Cade Cavalli left game with a quality start. Wyatt Olds subsequently threw three shutout innings for Oklahoma and earned the win.
A defensive miscue to start the seventh for the Razorbacks was the difference in the game. An errant throw led to three unearned runs for the Sooners, the difference in the game.
Oklahoma hits the field again Satruday at 12 PM ET against Missouri, while Arkansas takes on Texas at 8 PM ET.
